According to the International Monetary Fund, more than 70 percent of small- and medium-sized enterprises owned by women are underserved by financial institutions. She Counts plans to change that. The new global platform, launched by ExxonMobil and based on research by the Center for Global Development, will be implemented by Women’s World Banking, and will work with financial institutions to provide women with saving and economic tools that will help them invest in their businesses.

Through pilot projects in Tanzania and Indonesia, She Counts programs have already reached thousands of women by way of mobile savings and business training. See the video below for a glimpse into the very first She Counts community.
